Our shutters are manufactured by the world leader in shutter production using state of the art manufacturing techniques. The woods used in our hardwood shutters are stored for 6 months before being kiln dried twice in a computer controlled drying facility, taking into account the climate of the country to which the shutters will be exported. This greatly reduces the chances of any warping.
The side bars of the shutter panels are not produced as solid pieces. Instead the wood is cut into strips which are then bondeed back together in opposing layers for greater strength. This breaks the capillaries in the wood through which moisture travels so ensuring that the panels are unlikely to ever warp.
Our shutters are produced using only mortice and tenon joints, unlike the dowel joints used in cheaper quality shutters. This is because any movement means cracking in the paint or stain finish.
Unlike cheaper versions our shutters are treated with 6 coats of paint or stain and to make sure they are less susceptible to fading, the final layer is UV protected.
Our shutters are assembled prior to shipping to ensure that all the components fit together perfectly. They are then disassembled and packed into custom made packaging to ensure they arrive in perfect condition.
All this means that we are able to provide a 3 year warranty on all our shutter products.
